| Work Schedule Summary | The job requires that the employee teach 1 hour per day plus private swim lessons. This may include morning, evenings and weekends. Employees are responsible for finding their own substitutes for scheduled shifts. Employees are expected to work together as a team. |
Position Responsibilities
| Position Summary | Primary responsibility is to teach a progression of American Red Cross Swim Lessons consisting of Parent-Tot classes (ages 3 to 28 months), a progression of learn to swim classes for children 2½-5 years of age, and a progression of learn to swim classes for children 6 and older. The Water Safety Instructor (WSI) is expected to prevent accidents through proper use of equipment, awareness and responsibility. WSIs can plan on working during operational hours through the academic year and summer. Employees are expected to be professional, greet all patrons in a courteous manner, and serve as an information source for aquatic related inquiries. This is a part-time position that also provides the ability to teach private lessons. If you are interested in this position but need your certification, we have upcoming training. Percentage Of Time 10% Essential/ Marginal Essential Job Duty Function Contribute to team effort by: Job Duties/ Responsibilities Providing customer service to patrons by addressing and resolving complaints and concerns from the public; Responding to questions and inquiries; Answering the telephone and providing information and guidance to inquiries on swimming classes. Percentage Of Time 5% Essential/ Marginal Marginal Position Qualifications Required Qualifications Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification; Current American Red Cross CPR:PR Certification; Previous work experience that demonstrates: Ability to work well with the public; Ability to deal with staff and public in a professional, team oriented manner.
