Job Description

Senior Employment Law Attorney &- Management Defense (Boise, ID)

A premier, boutique employment law firm based in Boise is seeking an experienced, growth-minded Employment Law Attorney to join its dynamic team. This firm holds a distinct and highly respected position in the market as the only boutique in Idaho dedicated solely to representing employers in the areas of training, counseling, workplace investigations, and litigation.

This role is designed for a high-performing attorney with an entrepreneurial streak who wants to play a key role in expanding the firm’s reach into new industries and geographic markets, while enjoying a collaborative, specialized environment.

The Opportunity

You will step into a sophisticated, dual-track practice that balances proactive risk management with high-stakes defense litigation. This is not a role for a bystander; you will have direct client contact and the freedom to shape strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employer Counseling & Training: Provide strategic, day-to-day counseling to business owners, executives, and HR professionals on complex compliance matters, discipline, terminations, and evolving labor laws.

  • Workplace Investigations: Conduct independent, high-level internal workplace investigations regarding sensitive corporate and personnel matters.

  • Litigation Defense: Manage and litigate employment disputes through the entire lifecycle in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies.

  • Business Development: Actively leverage an entrepreneurial mindset to attract new clients, nurture industry connections, and expand the firm's market footprint.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Proven, mid-to-senior level experience practicing employment law, ideally with a strong emphasis on management-side representation.

  • Dual Skill Set: Well-rounded expertise spanning both day-to-day compliance counseling and active litigation defense.

  • Book of Business / Network: The ideal candidate is a self-starter who brings some portable clients and/or possesses a strong, demonstrated ability to generate business through existing professional relationships.

  • Licensure: Must be an active member of the Idaho State Bar in good standing.

What the Firm Offers

  • Market Differentiation: The prestige and marketing advantage of working with the state’s premier employer-exclusive boutique.

  • Autonomy & Input: A collaborative team structure where your voice dictates the strategic and geographical direction of the firm.

  • Compensation: Highly competitive base salary, negotiable based entirely on experience and portable book of business, alongside lucrative incentives for origination and performance.
